Our premium Negro Pepper, also known as Uda, is a traditional West African spice prized for its warm, aromatic flavor and distinctive smoky fragrance. Carefully selected and naturally dried, these flavorful pods are widely used to add depth and character to a variety of traditional dishes. A staple ingredient in West African cuisine, negro pepper is commonly used in pepper soup, banga soup, and other traditional broths where it infuses meals with its rich aroma. It is also used in the preparation of pap (akamu/ogi), either infused during cooking or blended into pap powder to enhance flavor. Simply add whole pods during cooking to release their aromatic spice, then remove before serving if desired.
